Italy has issued a new regulation on the third sector that embraces volunteer work, non-profit institutions and social cooperatives. The Third Sector 2017 course, organized by Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics, Development), will prepare experts who can provide answers to the problems and challenges that voluntary organizations are facing to improve their capacity to implement specific actions and new procedures for their contribution to European integration. The new Italian Code of the Third Sector, entered into effect in August 2017, is aimed at reaching the goals of full human development and employment opportunities for all Italians.
Applications will be accepted until Thursday, 16 November 2017. Monthly lessons are scheduled from November 2017 to May 2018. This course is taught by distinguished academics, lawyers, experts and leading professionals with legal and technical expertise.
“This training program”, said deputy rector of Sant’Anna School Emanuele Rossi, as the scientific coordinator, and Luca Gori, researcher of constitutional law at WISS Lab. “will explore the major policy changes and processes of adopting and implementing new regulations in Italy. We need to focus on the effects of these rules on the social cohesion as mechanisms to reduce inequalities and restore equity. All organizations, mutual associations and social enterprises which perform “activities of general interest” shall comply with the new provisions of the Code and amend their bylaws and regulations. Amended regulations will take effect as of February 2019”.
