Public authorities, companies and organizations will need to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Directive 679/2016). The Data Protection Officer training course enables participants to acquire the necessary expertise to support their organizations to implement and manage a compliance framework with regard to the protection of personal data.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), taking effect on 25 May 2018, contains provisions about the tasks a Data Protection Officer should carry out to provide protection to the personal data of individuals located in the EU. Obligations are imposed on both controllers and processors of personal data.

The 2018 Data Protection Officer training course is taught by distinguished academics of the Garante Privacy authority, Sant’Anna School, Free University of Brussels, and the University of Pisa.

This training course is based on lecture sessions, best practices, practical exercises and real case discussions.

The course will enable managers, consultants and experts to monitor compliance with the GDPR, to manage internal data protection activities, advice on data protection impact assessments, and conduct internal audits.

Applications for Data Protection Officer training course open until Friday, February 2018.
