VIRTUAL REALITY APPLIED TO DRAMATIC ARTS: PERCRO LABORATORY PARTICIPATES IN THE THIRD MEETING OF EUROPEAN THEATRE ACADEMIES IN FLORENCE

PERCRO Lab. members of Sant’Anna School - Pisa, participate in the third edition of META - Meeting of European Theatre Academies – which will be held on July 8-13 at Teatro della Pergola in Florence. The META events include seminars, conferences, workshops and performances; it will focus on performing arts education and training in European academies and is dedicated to theatre students, actors, directors, theatre enthusiasts, teachers and experts who want to stay up to date.

Best European theatre academies, the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts – Berlin, the Conservatorie Royal de Bruxelles, the RADA- Royal Academy of Dramatic Art - London, and the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid will participate in the meeting. Professor Massimo Bergamasco, Director of the TeCIP Institute for Communication, Information and Perception Technologies, will act as the scientific coordinator of the virtual reality environments applications.

The META - Meeting of European Theatre Academies is sponsored by Teatro della Toscana and Comune di Firenze. Since 2015, Pietro Bartolini has art directed, ideated, designed and coordinated the META events.

On July 12-13, Professor Massimo Bergamasco and Percro Lab. researchers Marcello Carrozzino and Chiara Evangelista will give a lecture on immersive virtual reality environments applied to performing arts education and training. They will focus on the most recent applications of robotics in performing arts. Professor Massimo Bergamasco, engineer and the event coordinator, is also an artist experimenting motion capture and spatial mapping within the discipline of new media art.

Registration for the META - Meeting of European Theatre Academies is required to attend all events.
