The Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna has been awarded, in 2017, a multiple framework contract for Awareness Training to EU staff working in Hostile Environment. These courses have been organised and offered to a broad range of personnel of EU institutions.
Most recently, the Scuola is part of a wider framework in cooperation with the 1^, 7^ and 13^ special regiments of Carabinieri Corps, for the implementation of a 4-year programme foreseeing the organisation and delivery of Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) courses for EU Institutions, namely the European External Action Service, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
The objective of the HEAT course is to offer to EU staff traveling or posted to high-risk countries a specific safety and security awareness training through experiential learning and a combination of different didactic methodologies. The training is expected to create a common understanding of the minimum behavioural requirements both as individual and team member of field operations, to increase their level of preparedness and response to risk and dangerous situations.
The course is not open for applications, but participants are selected directly by the relevant European Institution.
