UNIDO Industrial Development Report 2018

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization has just published the Industrial Development Report 2018, this year on "Demand for Manufacturing: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development".

Alessio Moneta and Elena Stepanova, both from the Institute of Economics at Scuola Sant'Anna, have collaborated to this project with a background paper on international consumption patterns in manufacturing. Using World Bank's Global Consumption Database they show how demand for manufacturing products and services is much less easily satiated than the demand for food. These findings constitute the bulk of the chapter 2 of the report.
