The Development Law, Policy and Advocacy (DELPA) course, organized in collaboration with Caritas Internationalis, includes a first classroom training module and a second training internship module at one of the organizations affiliated with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. The course intends to respond to the training needs in the subjects under investigation (advocacy, development policies, protection of human rights) in an organic and multidisciplinary method, combining scientific knowledge and practical skills.
The Educational Objective of the Course is the training of qualified operators able to carry out advocacy activities or activities related to the processing and implementation of development policies within non-governmental or international or national organizations, which operate in the areas of development and protection of human rights.
The teaching methodologies, in consideration of the nature of the course and of the training object, as well as of the recipients of the Course, provide for the integration between content of theoretical and scientific framework and study and practical-applicative knowledge, gained in various professional contexts.
The Course syllabus is structured as follows:
- a first module (classroom training, divided into general and specialist training), held at the headquarters of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies or, in case of proven needs, remotely, from January 14, 2021 to February 20, 2021 for a total of n. 120 hours on Thursday (02.30-6.30 p.m.), Friday (9.00 a.m./01.00 p.m.; 02.30/6.30 p.m.) and Saturday (9.00 a.m./01.00 p.m.; 02.30/6.30 p.m.);
- a second module (training internships) to be held at the institutions and organizations affiliated with Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies on the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021 for a total of n. 120 hours.
In consideration of the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning and during the course the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and the Scientific Director of DELPA can decide at their discretion to arrange for the course to be held exclusively online on web platforms.
There is a 50% reduction in the Course fee for employees/collaborators of Caritas Internationalis (including employees/collaborators of the General Secretariat, regional offices and organizations of the Caritas confederation at national level), for a maximum of 4 members.
There is a 10% reduction in the Course fee for those who have not completed the twenty-eighth year of age at the closing date to submit applications and for employees or, in any case, those who work permanently and formally for non-governmental, international or national organizations accredited in the reference sectors.
