Insurgencies: an interdisciplinary approach

How are armed insurgencies changing and how do we study them? The international workshop Insurgencies aims to stimulate a scientific discussion by involving distinguished international scholars who approach insurgencies from different disciplinary perspectives. Building on the insights of contemporay political science, international law, sociology and economics, the workshop explores the changing role of actors, dynamics, and scenarios of contemporary insurgencies. The workshop coincides with the academic year kick-off of the Master in International Studies (MISS), a two-year level programme that is organized jointly by the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa and the School of International Studies of the University of Trento.
