Memory, Constitution and Rights
“Memory, Constitution and Rights” is the title of the event that will take place on Monday, 27 January at 9:30 a.m., in Aula 3, promoted by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna on the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Organized in collaboration with Fondazione ISMU and Fondazione Memoria della Deportazion, the event offers a structured, interdisciplinary reflection on the value of memory as a foundation of constitutional democracy and as a tool for safeguarding rights. Through contributions from faculty members, researchers, and experts from various institutions, key issues for understanding the present will be addressed: the relationship between memory and the Constitution, the role of constitutional charters in preserving democratic values, persecution and discrimination, the voices of survivors, and the gender dimension in the construction of collective memory.
During the morning, the project “It’s Your History, Bro! Make Memories from Memories” will also be presented, and space will be given to the students who contributed to the volume Memory. Diary of a Journey (Pisa University Press, 2025), bearing witness to a path that weaves together education, research, and civic responsibility.
An event designed for the academic community and for everyone who wishes to reflect on the deeper meaning of memory as a compass for the future.
