Where does the East end and the West begin? Perhaps the line doesn’t exist. Or perhaps it runs through our cities, our languages, and the lives of those who grow up between multiple worlds.
Renata Pepicelli’s book invites us to go beyond geographic boundaries and rigid categories, viewing Europe as a plural space shaped by intertwining histories, faiths, and identities. The daughters and sons of migration tell complex stories that challenge and redefine what we understand by Islam in Europe, citizenship, and culture.
A decolonial and gendered perspective opens new ways of imagining a world that is not “elsewhere,” but already here—in our relationships, conflicts, and transformations that inhabit the present.
The author is introduced by Barbara Henry and Anna Loretoni from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
Speakers include Francesca Biondi Dal Monte and Luca Raineri from the Scuola Sant’Anna.
