Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2024/25
The Sant'Anna School in Pisa will inaugurate the2024 / 2025 academic year at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday 14 December at the Verdi Theatre in Pisa. The ceremony coincides with the last inauguration of rector Sabina Nuti's mandate, which ends in May 2025, hence the slogan ‘Arriving is a new beginning’, shared with the other inauguration, that of the Collegio Santa Croce in Fossabanda, scheduled for Friday 13 December. On the programme, after the opening entrusted to the Choir of the students of the Sant'Anna School, the rector Sabina Nuti ‘s report will focus on the results achieved over the past year and during her term of office. In her speech, Rector Sabina Nuti is accompanied by the representatives of the students and the people who, ‘standing behind the scenes’, the technical administrative staff, provide an essential contribution to achieving the goal.
The focus then shifts to research, thanks to two in-depth focuses, led by Agnese Pini, editor-in-chief of QN, La Nazione, Il Resto del Carlino, Il Giorno: in these challenging and complex times, researchers are entrusted with the task of achieving the mission of the Sant'Anna School in the social sciences and experimental sciences. Next, Professor Andrea de Guttry, in dialogue with General Gianluca Feroce, Commander of the Carabinieri Mobile Brigade, will address the topic of ‘Peace Studies’ in the training of personnel involved in ‘Peace Keeping’ operations. Afterwards, Giovanna Iannantuoni, president of the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors) with Dr. Ilaria Capua will address the challenges of overcoming gender inequalities in the academic research context. The Rector Sabina Nuti ‘s conclusions are accompanied by a live performance by the string orchestra of the “Pietro Mascagni” Conservatory of Livorno, under the direction of Professor Chiara Morandi.
