"Quanto vale – oggi – la conoscenza?” incontro con Maria Chiara Carrozza

On May 25, 2026, the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna will host an event dedicated to a question that has become increasingly urgent: what is the value of knowledge today?

The event will open with remarks by the Rector, Prof. Nicola Vitiello, and by the Dean of the Social Sciences Class, Prof. Alberto Di Minin.

The keynote speaker will be Prof. Maria Chiara Carrozza, author, scientist, former Italian Minister of Education, and former President of the National Research Council (CNR), currently Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Drawing on a perspective that connects research, institutions, and public responsibility, Professor Carrozza will reflect on the processes through which knowledge is created, the conditions needed to safeguard it, and the risks that emerge when knowledge is progressively marginalized.

Joining the discussion with the author will be Luca Tognari and Salvatore Dipersia, students of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, who will contribute to the conversation by exploring the themes raised throughout the event.

The meeting will conclude with a Q&A session, offering participants the opportunity to further engage with the topics discussed and to interact directly with the author.
