The Role of Civil Society actors in promoting electoral peace in Ghana’s 2024 General Elections

How can civil society contribute to peaceful, credible, and democratic elections? This International Law Roundtable explores the role played by civil society organizations in promoting electoral peace during Ghana's 2024 general elections.

The seminar features Dr. Afua Boatemaa Yakohene, Senior Research Fellow at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy, University of Ghana. Drawing on her expertise in peace and security, governance, international institutions, and gender in Africa, Dr. Yakohene will discuss the contribution of non-state actors to conflict prevention, democratic participation, and electoral stability in the Ghanaian context.

The event offers an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between civil society, democratic governance, and peacebuilding, highlighting lessons that extend beyond Ghana's experience.
