Sant'Anna Science Café 2026 – From Earth to the Moon, with Very Little Propellant. How to Push a Dream from the Ground to Lunar Orbit
On June 4, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies will host the first event of Sant'Anna Science Café 2026.
From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the guest speaker will be Professor Tommaso Andreussi with a talk entitled:
“From Earth to the Moon, with Very Little Propellant. How to Push a Dream from the Ground to Lunar Orbit.”
Through the story of space propulsion technologies, orbital trajectories, and the engineering challenges involved in missions beyond Earth’s atmosphere, the event will take the audience on a journey through physics, innovation, and the future of space exploration. A path that begins on Earth and looks toward the Moon as a new scientific frontier, among increasingly efficient engines, advanced research, and scenarios that until a few years ago belonged mostly to science fiction.
The evening will also feature live music, transforming the scientific dialogue into a convivial experience open to the city.
