A broad and inclusive community is forming around ALL Tuscany, the living laboratory of agroecology in Tuscany that brings together farmers, researchers, institutions and local communities to co-design sustainable solutions for agricultural and agri-food systems. The First Assembly of ALL Tuscany was held at the headquarters of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Palazzo Pilo Boyl, and represented a key moment in consolidating the collaborative process initiated by the Living Lab and defining priorities for the coming years.

ALL Tuscany is a regional Agroecology Living Lab, officially established in 2025 as an open and participatory space for the co-design of sustainable and innovative agricultural solutions, in which both scientific and local and practical knowledge are valued. The laboratory, one of the European Agroecology Living Labs involved in the SUNRISE project, funded by the European Partnership for Agroecology, aims to develop shared solutions for more sustainable, regenerative and innovative agricultural systems, promoting the transition to ecological, resilient and inclusive agricultural systems, promoting shared approaches to soil health, biodiversity, chemical input reduction and integrated management of agri-food supply chains. resilient and inclusive agricultural systems, promoting shared approaches to soil health, biodiversity, reduction of chemical inputs and integrated management of agri-food supply chains.

During the Assembly, the Three-Year Activity Plan (PTA) 2026-2028, drawn up by the Steering Committee, was presented and will now be finalised taking into account the contributions and proposals made by the participants. The discussion showed how strong the interest of all stakeholders is in building a shared vision for Tuscan agriculture and underlined the importance of active participation for the success of agroecology initiatives.

"We are very satisfied with the quality and breadth of the debate that emerged during the Assembly - said Paolo Bàrberi, full professor of the Agroecology Group at the Institute of Plant Sciences of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, scientific promoter of the project. - The richness of the interventions and the variety of perspectives have reinforced our conviction that the agroecological transition cannot be separated from a collective commitment and the cooperation of all actors in the Tuscan agricultural system. We look to the future with confidence: the work done so far and the spirit of collaboration demonstrated are a solid basis for the activities that await us in the coming years".

The participants in the Assembly emphasised the importance of keeping all channels of dialogue and discussion between regional stakeholders in the sector open, including through the creation of thematic working groups and opportunities for training and shared experimentation in the field. The Three-Year Plan will be updated to incorporate the suggestions that emerged, thus strengthening ALL Tuscany's commitment to promoting the co-design of effective agroecological practices that can be applied in the region's various production contexts.

ALL Tuscany will therefore continue its work with a long-term perspective, based on close collaboration with farmers, institutions, research centres, supply chain operators and citizens sensitive to issues of sustainable rurality, in order to promote participatory innovation processes and strengthen the Tuscan agroecological community.
