Applied Sciences Best Paper Award 2026: Paper on Post-Quantum Cryptography Co-Authored by Professor Maria Gagliardi Receives International Recognition
An important international recognition for the research carried out at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. The scientific paper "Performance Analysis of Post-Quantum Cryptography Algorithms for Digital Signature", co-authored by Maria Gagliardi, Associate Professor at the DIRPOLIS Institute, has been selected as one of the winners of the Applied Sciences Best Paper Award 2026, the annual prize presented by the scientific journal Applied Sciences (MDPI).
The paper is the result of an international collaboration within the project PQ-REACT involving Filip Opiłka and Marcin Niemiec from the AGH University of Krakow, Maria Gagliardi from the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, and Michail Alexandros Kourtis from the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" in Athens.
Each year, the Best Paper Award recognizes outstanding publications for their scientific excellence, originality, significance, and impact on the research community. The winners are selected by an international scientific committee, which identifies ten outstanding publications, including both research articles and review papers, based on their scientific merit, innovation, clarity of presentation, and impact, as reflected in citations and downloads.
