More sustainable businesses: the Sant’Anna School launches the higher Education Course ESAI - Executive Course in Environmental Business Sustainability
Turning climate and environmental goals into concrete choices in governance, design, and markets. This is the objective of the first edition of the ESAI — Executive Course in Environmental Business Sustainability, promoted by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
The course aims to provide managers and professionals with practical tools to design, measure, and communicate corporate environmental sustainability across the entire value chain. The scientific director of the course is Marco Frey, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Sustainability and Climate, while the educational coordination is entrusted to Researcher Filippo Corsini.
The deadline for applications is set for September 10, 2026.
Who the course is for
The course is designed for professionals with different backgrounds, including managers and consultants working mainly with companies producing goods and services, with the aim of training and updating experts in environmental sustainability management.
At the end of the program, participants will be able to define an environmental roadmap aligned with corporate strategy, develop KPIs and monitoring dashboards, and plan decarbonization initiatives. They will also learn how to integrate ecodesign principles and circular models into products, manage supply chains from a “green” perspective, oversee compliance and sustainability reporting, and communicate transparently while avoiding the risks of greenwashing.
Topics covered and course duration
Strategy and sustainability governance; ecodesign and life cycle assessment; sustainable business models; eco-innovation management; sustainable marketing and environmental communication; biodiversity for business and supply chains. These are some of the topics that will be covered during the course, which will take place every Friday afternoon (3:00–6:00 PM) and every Saturday morning (9:00–11:00 AM) from October 9 to December 19, 2026.
The course will be delivered online using e-learning methodologies that simulate traditional classroom activities. Lectures will alternate with direct interaction with instructors, discussions, and practical exercises through multimedia tools and content.
