Quality of life, well-being, and their relationship with technology will be at the heart of the many reflections emerging on Monday, May 11, during eXL Day, the event presenting the first 2026 issue of the four-monthly magazine dedicated to research, business, and innovation.

The valuable result of an unprecedented collaboration among some of the leading institutions and organizations in research and education — with Unione Industriale Pisana and Camera di Commercio della Toscana Nord-Ovest as leading partners — eXL, now celebrating the sixth year since its launch, is opening itself even further to the local community by involving its partners in its flagship event: the presentation of the first annual issue.

To host eXL Day 2026, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna has been chosen — the event will therefore take place on Monday, May 11 at 5:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3 — as a sign of recognition for the momentum and contribution that this university of excellence provides to the development of robotic technologies for healthcare.

Moderated by Patrizia Alma Pacini, the afternoon of discussions and presentations will feature contributions from Andrea Madonna, Nicola Vitiello, the mayors of Pisa and TerricciolaMichele Conti and Matteo Arcenni — as well as professors and researchers including Giuseppe Turchetti (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna), Giuseppe Anastasi (University of Pisa), Lorenzo Bosi (Scuola Normale Superiore), and Meri Barbafieri (National Research Council of Italy).

The event will also include entrepreneurs such as Luigi Doveri (Forti Holding) and Massimiliano Gabardi (Next Generation Robotics), together with experts Stefano Pitti (Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra) and Simone Lippi (Acque Spa).

The concluding remarks will be delivered by Valter Tamburini, President of Camera di Commercio della Toscana Nord-Ovest.
