Bio

Laura Berlingozzi is a postdoc researcher at the Dirpolis Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science, European Politics and International Relations at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in 2021. She was visiting researcher at the REPI (Recherche et Etudes en Politique Internationale) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and at the University Abdou Moumouni in Niamey. Her doctoral project focused on the gender dimension in the insurgencies and counterinsurgency practices in the Sahel. She holds a second level Master Diploma in Diplomacy and International Politics from the University of Bologna and a master’s degree magna cum laude in International Politics from the University of Padua. She studied at CUNY College and in Sweden. Prior to starting her Ph.D., Laura has worked for the Italian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, and in Brussels for a number of international organisations and the European Parliament. Her main expertise lies in the fields of (critical) security and gender studies.
