As part of the BEEP Seasonal School, the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna is pleased to host a seminar by Paolo Nespoli, astronaut and engineer with the European Space Agency (ESA).

Drawing on his unique experience from three space missions and nearly 313 days spent in orbit, Paolo Nespoli will explore the evolution of human spaceflight, from its pioneering achievements to the challenges and opportunities shaping its future. The seminar will offer insights into technological innovation, international cooperation, and the next generation of space exploration, highlighting the growing role of science and engineering in expanding humanity's presence beyond Earth.

Paolo Nespoli is an Italian astronaut and engineer with the European Space Agency (ESA). During his career, he flew on three space missions to the International Space Station, spending a total of 313 days in space. Before joining ESA's astronaut corps, he worked as an engineer and gained extensive experience in aerospace technologies and astronaut training. Throughout his career, he has contributed to scientific research, technological innovation, and international cooperation in human spaceflight, while inspiring new generations to pursue careers in science, engineering, and space exploration.
