Modelling and genetics to discover why plants have circadian clocks
The Institute of Plant Sciences at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna is pleased to invite you to the next seminar of the Series on Plant Molecular Physiology, featuring Alex Webb, Professor at the University of Cambridge (UK).
The seminar will take place on Monday, 13th July 2026, at 3:00 p.m., in the Aula Magna of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Piazza Martiri della Libertà 33, Pisa.
Alex Webb's research explores how plants measure time through the circadian clock and how this internal 24-hour timing mechanism contributes to maximising plant growth and productivity. In his talk, he will discuss the role of modelling and genetics in uncovering the evolutionary and functional reasons behind the existence of circadian clocks in plants.
