Learning objectives
The 2027 edition of the DS@SSSA Seasonal School will provide students with a multi/interdisciplinary training on the main tools, methodologies, and applications of data science to understand and analyse the main trends that are rapidly emerging in Social Sciences. Areas of significant impact on contemporary society will be covered, including healthcare, the study of socio-demographic dynamics, the impact of climate change, and regulatory and legislative processes.
In particular, the Seasonal School will provide training on Data Science methods for the understanding of societal dynamics in four key areas:

population health and socio-demographic dynamics: with reference to the analysis of clinical data and healthcare systems;

the study of population dynamics such as aging and the emergence of inequalities;

climate and environment, for the prediction of environmental phenomena and understanding their impact on economic and social variables;

regulation and policy, with a focus on regulations on data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence, process analysis.
The key learning objective is to train professionals capable of combining technical skills with an understanding of the social context, contributing to the development of evidence-based solutions that support the understanding of social phenomena.
Teaching methodologies
Students will find an interactive and cross-disciplinary learning environment that will combine lectures, practical exercises, and testimonials of national and international experiences through (possibly) remote connection with researchers, managers, and experts.
Target participants
Undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students from STEM disciplines, as well as from economics and business, healthcare, and law who have at least a basic knowledge of data analysis methodologies.
