I am Giuseppe Tortora, PhD in BioRobotics, researcher at The BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy and I come from Isernia, Molise, Italy.
I am head of the Smart Medical Theatre Lab at The BioRobotics Institute, a laboratory originated from my research interests in medical robotics, minimally invasive robotics surgery and other research topics including autonomous robots based on Artificial Intelligence conceived for medical and social applications for humans at different levels.

In past, I was a visiting research assistant at the Imperial College London, London, UK and at the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

I am founder of 2 spin off companies, the most recent one is ABzero srl, founded in 2017. I strongly support the university mission of technology transfer as a fil rouge connecting research and enterpreneurship. I gained management experience also through several incubation and management classes and I was prized with many international awards.
