Andrea Bandini

Andrea Bandini is an assistant professor at the Interdisciplinary Research Center "Health Science" - Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa), and an adjunct professor at the Department of Information Engineering - Università degli Studi di Firenze. He holds a PhD (2016) in Bioengineering from the University of Bologna (Italy), a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (2012), and a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering (2010) from the University of Florence (Italy). 

The overarching goal of his research is to improve the access to healthcare and optimize interventions in people with neurological disorders, by developing multi-modal and intelligent tools for remote clinical assessment. His research focuses on neurological disorders and ageing and lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, biomedical signal processing, and rehabilitation engineering. He is author and co-author of 30+ peer-reviewed papers published in international journals and conference proceedings and he received several awards for thesis activities and conference presentations at the national and international levels.
