The Sant'Anna School is one of the main contributors to the event dedicated to the dissemination and dissemination of scientific knowledge

The 2022 edition of the European Researchers' Night (BRIGHT -Night) is scheduled for September 30. The event, that was established by the EU Commission in 2005 with the purpose of spreading the scientific knowledge, will see the Sant'Anna School among the Tuscan scientific and research entities that will open their doors and show the results of their researches.

Friday, September 30, researchers will be in the squares of 10 Tuscan towns and will animate a wide range of initiatives designed to communicate their researches to a non specialized audience with special attention to kids and young students that will be involved in events tailored for their age and scientific literacy level. Workshops, demonstrations, experiences, guided tours and science walks will take the audience on an exciting journey through the various dimensions of research.

The European Night of researchers and researchers in Tuscany, BRIGHT-NIGHT, is promoted by all Tuscan universities (University of Florence, Pisa, Siena, Foreigners of Siena, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca) together with an extensive network of research bodies - including the National Research Council (CNR), the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO)the National Institute of Astrophysics - Astrophysical Observatory of Arcetri (INAF-OAA).

The event received the support of the Tuscany Regional government, within the framework of the project GiovaniSì.

BRIGHT-NIGHT is a Project funded by the European Commission’s HORIZON-MSCA-Citizens-2022 program, within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.

The activities that will take place in Tuscany, like in other European countries, on the night of September 30, will be structured around four themes.

  • An inclusive society
  • Health care
  • Innovative technologies
  • Climate change and food sustainability

A special and exciting program dedicated to Kids is worth mentioning, with stands where the main themes will be intrduced with activities and languages designed to help young people approach the world of Science and Research.
