Bio

Hasan received his Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. He continued with his Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich with a focus on microrobotics. He wrote his Master Thesis at the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab in ETH, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Bradley J. Nelson, on using micropillars as intracellular viscosity sensors. He later worked as a Guest Scientist at the Physical Intelligence lab of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, under Prof. Dr. Metin Sitti. Hasan worked as an Early Stage Researcher with the Marie-Sklodowska Curie ATLAS project under European Union Innovative Training Network and received his joint PhD - Doctor of Philosophy in BioRobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Italy; and Doctor of Engineering Technology from KU Leuven, Belgium for his thesis titled "Novel magnetic technologies for endovascular applications".

Hasan is currently at The BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Pisa as a Post-doc. He is also additionally affiliated with the Department of Excellence in Robotics & A.I.

Research

Hasan is interested in microrobotics and surgical robotics. He is especially interested in using magnetic fields for the actuation and navigation of such robots.
