T.M.C. Asser Press/Springer Verlag has published at the beginning of March 2016 a book entitled “Foreign fighters under international law and beyond”. The book has been edited by Andrea de Guttry, Director of the Dirpolis Institute of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Francesca Capone, research fellow in public international law at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, and Christophe Paulussen, senior researcher at the Asser Institute.

The volume consists of 25 chapters written by distinguished academics, researchers from think-tanks and practitioners; and it offers a unique overview of the issues and the challenges that the phenomenon of “foreign fighters” poses to States and to the international community as a whole. The foreword has been written by Gilles de Kerchove, the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator.

Several staff members of the Dirpolis Institute contributed to the volume: Francesco Strazzari, Emanuele Sommario, Annalisa Creta, Matteo Bonfanti.
