The required profile

The Institute of Mechanical Intelligence is looking for a candidate with a research background in one or more of the research areas: Fibre Optic Sensing; Photonic Integration; Photonic Technologies; Optoelectronics; Materials Science.
The candidate should contribute to the design and development of sensing and actuation functions to enhance the intelligence of complex physical systems, also embedding photonic sensors in smart materials to provide integrated solutions in a wide range of industrial fields.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in an appropriate science or engineering field. The successful applicant will be required to teach, advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, participate in all aspects of the Institute activities
