The alliance between Tuscan universities in the field of university education is strengthened with the collaboration between the University of Florence, the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa.

The collaboration envisages that students in the last two years admitted to the Scuola Normale and the Scuola Sant'Anna in the area of political-social, economic and computer sciences will also be enrolled at the University of Florence for an integrated course in the corresponding master's degree courses at the University of Florence.

More specifically, for the next academic year, students of the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Sant'Anna will be able to enrol in the Florentine master's degree courses in "Statistics and Data Science" (S. Anna), "Design and Management of Social Interventions (SNS)", "Politics, Institutions and Market (SNS and S.Anna)", "International Relations and European Studies (SNS and S.Anna)", "Strategies of Public and Political Communication (SNS)", "Sociology and Global Challenges (SNS and S.Anna)", Software: Science and Technology (S.Anna).

The collaboration between Unifi, Normale and Sant'Anna also extends to students in international mobility to and from foreign universities: in particular, foreign students staying at Normale and Sant'Anna can attend courses at UNIFI and students from the two Schools can benefit from UNIFI's numerous agreements to set up courses abroad. In the future, the collaboration may also develop with the promotion of joint degree courses and for research activities.

"The collaboration that we are presenting today has a special value," emphasises Alessandra Petrucci, Rector of the University of Florence, "because it is a further example of the Tuscan university system's commitment to teamwork, to share strengths and to enhance the quality of the training on offer.

"Bringing together the skills and competences of these three universities is fundamental, in order to promote quality education, which is increasingly interdisciplinary and connected to the new horizons of research," says Anna Loretoni, dean of the Social Sciences academic class at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.

"A further opportunity for a parallel pathway for future students at the master's level, who we hope will come from all over Italy to study at the two Schools, enrolling in one of the Florentine master's degree courses," emphasises Manuela Caiani, professor of Political Science at the Scuola Normale Superiore.
