The Library of Sant'Anna School is participating in the International Week of "Open Access" knowledge, scheduled for Monday, October 24th to Sunday, October 30th, which dedicates special attention to the theme of "Climate Justice". The goal of the 2022 edition is to encourage connection and collaboration between the climate movement and the international "Open Access" knowledge sharing community. Sharing knowledge is considered a human right and facing the climate crisis requires the rapid exchange of knowledge across geographic, economic and disciplinary boundaries.

There are numerous initiatives at the Sant'Anna School Library:

  • a selection of academic publications in Open Access, downloadable to your mobile device via a QR code, on the 17 goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
  • Publisher Wiley in its RISE Collection -Research in support for equity- has created a section dedicated to the OA Week 2022 theme, Climate Justice. You can browse through a collection of freely downloadable papers as well as interviews, blogs and social discussions (#OAWeek).
  • IOP Publishing has brought together research related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, from studies on drought and forest fire risks to the feasibility of refreezing the Arctic ice caps. This IOP collection devoted to sustainability can be read for free by anyone. IOP has also produced a video to explain how open access to research results can be a contribution to the climate crisis.
