LATEST ADVANCES IN MEDICINE AND TECHNOLOGIES AT SMIT 2017 CONGRESS IN TURIN WITH SUPPORT OF SANT’ANNA BIOROBOTICS INSTITUTE

The 29th Congress of International Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (iSMIT 2017) will be held on 9-10 November at the Dental School of the University of Turin. To discuss the latest advancement of ‘Technology and care for patients’, the International Society for Medical Innovation and Technology organized a two-day conference dedicated to the latest applied research in the medical technology sector and interventions for increased patient benefit.

The 2017 SMIT international congress topics include: minimally invasive surgery, robotics, interventional radiology, computer-assisted medicine, nanotechnology and nanomedicine, smart and next generation technologies.

Professor Arianna Menciassi of Sant’Anna BioRobotics Institute and member of iSMIT Steering Committee will speak with Professor Paolo Dario about how the latest advances in medicines and research carried out in the laboratory can benefit patients and the national health system. Engineer Gastone Ciuti, will give a talk on ENDOVESPA, to expand the capabilities of traditional colonoscopy by introducing automated computer assistance procedure.

The conference to take place in Turin after last one held in Naples in 2005, will complement work already in place on computer-assisted medicine, nanotechnology and nanomedicine. The event will convene innovation engineering scholars and student groups from many universities to discuss universities and government important role to play in driving innovation and promote life sciences.
