Sant’Anna School has reaffirmed its commitment to excellence by achieving international recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings by Subject 2020. The Sant’Anna School’s strong performance was confirmed by the publication of the results of the Computer Science” and Engineering and Technology” subject rankings. The IT, Telecommunications and Industrial Engineering departments’ performance contributed to Sant’Anna School’s core missions.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for sciences and technology employs the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings. To provide the most comprehensive and standardized method measuring the data, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject examined the impact of research and knowledge transfer (indicator “Industry Income”).

In 2018, Sant’Anna School was ranked in the top 150 of the THE World Rankings for Computer Science. This year, it has been ranked in the top 125 globally. The 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess academic teaching and research output of universities across the world on their reputation and citation impact of publications. Indicators are normalized to take account of each university’s distinct subject profile, reflecting the fact that research grants in science subjects are often bigger than those awarded for social science, arts and humanities.
