Aliria Poliziani is a Research Assistant at SSSA, within the “Regenerative Technologies” Lab of the BioRobotics Institute. In 2016 she received a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Pisa, with a dissertation about synthesis and acousto-mechanical characterization of nanocomposite materials for ultrasound phantoms and smart substrates for cell cultures. From 2017 to 2019 she worked as a Research Fellow at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in the project “BioImpedance Temporary Tattoo Electrodes” (BITTE) sponsored by MED-EL. In this project she participated to design and develop an innovative biomedical technology based on skin-contact polymeric electrodes, using inkjet technology, for acquiring bio-impedance signals in humans. From 2019 to 2021 she worked on development of new mechatronics systems for automation of pathological anatomy laboratory in a project sponsored by INPECO.
She has expertise in material synthesis and characterization and in development of customized set-ups and experimental protocols for performance testing of biomedical device. Her current research activity concerns the study, fabrication and characterization of materials to enhance the biocompatibility for implanted devices, in particular for artificial pancreas in the context of the FORGETDIABETES project.
