Alessia Cuccaro

She works as a postdoctoral fellow in Trancrilab (Unit of Translational Critical Care Medicine) at the Health Science Center. She is currently involved in the EXTREMEHEART project, contributing to the development and preclinical validation of an innovative therapeutic strategy based on mitochondria-rich extracellular vesicle transplantation for the treatment of advanced heart failure. Her work combines in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches to elucidate the molecular, biochemical, and physiological mechanisms underlying mitochondrial transfer and its potential to promote cardiac recovery and resilience in end-stage disease.
