Alessio Novi
Bio
Alessio joined the Ph.D programm in Innovation and Sustainability Management at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Prior to this, he received a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Pisa, a master's degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology from University of Pisa and Sant'Anna School, and a second-level master in Environmental Management, Sustainability and Circular Economy (Master GECA: Gestione e controllo dell'ambiente: economia circolare e management efficiente delle risorse) at Sant'Anna School. Therefore, he has knowledge especially on Biotechnological processes and industry, (bio)Chemical and (bio)Pharmaceutical industry, Biomaterials, Energy, Water and Waste management. He won several scholarships to study abroad: first in England (Nottingham Trent University, UK) where he studied Biochemistry and then in the Netherlands (EMMTEC industrial park, NL), where he carried out his master’s dissertation on bio-plastics and 3D-printing in a start-up. There, he developed a strong interest in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
In Sant'Anna he is currently working as a Sustainability consultant and PhD researcher. Alessio's line of research focuses on sustainability management, industrial symbiosis and circular economy. He also obtained the RSE scholarship to work on “Energy system in the era of the circular economy: towards a multi-dimensional metric approach”.
