Bio

Antonio Crupi is a Research Fellow at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, where he works at the Institute of Management with the Innovation Management research group. He also collaborates with the Confucius Institute in Pisa and with the Galileo Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna at the Chongqing University in China. Antonio is also a Researcher Affiliated with the Strategic and Innovation Management Consortium (STIM) at the Institute of Manufacturing of the University of Cambridge. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Asian Business and Management Journal. 

Antonio’s research focuses on innovation management, strategic management, intellectual property, and knowledge and technology transfer. Mainly he investigates the strategies that drive collaborations among different organizations in terms of open innovation and university-industry relationships. Moreover, his studies also aim to explore the dynamics behind innovation diffusion in terms of IP management strategies and ecosystems development. Antonio’s studies mainly refer to the small-medium enterprises in the European context. He also reserves specific attention to the Asian economies, particularly to China, where he permanently collaborates with colleagues from the Chinese Academy of Science and Chongqing University, and to Korea, where he works jointly with scholars from the Sogang University in Seoul. 

Antonio regularly publishes his studies in scientific journals, including the R&D Management Journal, the Journal of Knowledge Transfer, and the Journal of Intellectual Capital. He also largely publishes chapters in several handbooks, popular books, and online blogs. Antonio is also involved in numerous research projects at the European level, such as Erasmus+ Programme projects and the European Patent Office Academic Research Programme.
