Research
My research takes place at the frontier of two sets of topics: agent-based modeling, complexity theory, and systemic risks on the one hand, and machine learning and AI on the other.
My main research objective is to understand how data-intensive predictive modeling impacts the system it is inferring upon and driving decisions in. Relatedly, I question the relevance of the current ML validation paradigm in the design of predictive models used to support high-stake or pervasive decisions.
