Criminal Law, Regulatory Revolution and Governance

Criminal Law, Regulatory Revolution and Governance research area aimed to explore criminal law’s changes which are determined by the rise of challenging regulatory schemes and strategies (the so-called regulatory revolution). Criminal law certainly does not play a marginal role in the new regulatory landscape, especially within the fields (privacy regulation, OGM regulation, RegTech, Product Liability, Consumer Safety, Food Safety, Work safety, Corporate Accountability) in which the direct regulatory approach are overcome (eg the command and control approach). Therefore, the research line develops innovative conceptual framework to analyze and legitimize the current criminal law, taking into account its procedural, multi-normative and regulatory orientations.
