Examination of the EU asylum acquis in light of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights
The conference “An examination of the EU asylum acquis in light of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights”, will held at Scuola Sant’Anna on the 23th and 24th of September. The conference is organized by the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE), the Association for Juridical Studies on Immigration (ASGI) and the DIRPOLIS Institute of the Scuola Sant’Anna, that has worked in the field of asylum and immigration for several years for research and training activities. The conference aims to stimulate a debate on the right to asylum in Italy and in the European Union, focusing in particular on the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and on the practices. The European Asylum System, the Dublin Regulation, the procedures of relocation, the hotspots system are some of the topics that will be analyzed during the two working days. The speakers are expert at national and international level and members of the European Parliament, amongst which Cécile Kashetu Kyenge, former Minister for Integration in the years 2013-2014.
