Fundamental human rights issues through philosophical perspectives: seminars featuring Heitor Pagliaro
On Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13, 2024, the DIRPOLIS (Law, Politics, Development) Institute is organizing a series of seminars featuring Heitor Pagliaro, Visiting Researcher from the Federal University of Goias, with moderation by Barbara Henry, professor at the Scuola Sant'Anna.
This seminar series addresses fundamental human rights issues through philosophical perspectives. The talks explore traditional and contemporary narratives of rights, Rousseau's philosophical framework for political freedom and its influence in the field of human rights, and the essential role of human rights education in strengthening democratic values. Linking these themes, the seminars aim to promote critical reflection on theoretical conceptions of human rights.
The seminars are part of the doctoral program in Human Rights and Global Politics, but participation is open to all.
The detailed agenda is attached.
