"Human Rights under Occupation: A Dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967" is the title of the seminar that will be held on Thursday, March 16 (10.30 am, Aula Magna) at the Sant’Anna School, featuring Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Special Rapporteur will discuss her first report, transmitted to the UN General Assembly in September 2022, which focuses on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

The speech of the UN Special Rapporteur will be introduced by Francesca Capone, professor of international law at the DIRPOLIS (Law, Politics, Development) Institute of the Sant'Anna, who will give an historical and legal overview of the Israeli Occupation. Antonio Bultrini, University of Florence, and Massimo Iovane, University of Naples Federico II, will act as discussants.

The seminar will be moderated by Emanuele Sommario, Director of the Master's program in Human Rights and Conflict Management at the Sant'Anna School and professor of International Law.
