Research

Guilherme's research focuses on the intersection of law, society, the environment, and technology, examining the legal rationality of climate change. Specifically, he studies how international environmental and climate law, and overarching policy initiatives such as the European Green Deal and the Brazilian Ecological Transformation Plan are reshaping legal rationality and the concept of sustainability. This body of work explores how different legal systems are adapting to the same global challenges, with a particular focus on the tension between national sovereignty and transnational environmental obligations.
