Ilaria Santoemma is PhD candidate in Human Rights and Global Politics (Curriculum Political Philosophy) from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa – DIRPOLIS Institute and member of the PRI (Posthuman Research Institute) at Brock University. She has been visiting PhD student at Brock University, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Christine Daigle.
Her main research interests are: Political Philosophy, Critical Posthumanities, Philosophy of Technology, Gender and Women’s Studies. Currently working on a research project focused on Transhumanism and Posthumanism as paradigms for contemporary techno-subjectivities and new forms of life, under the supervision of Prof. Barbara Henry.

Background in Philosophy from University of Bologna and Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her philosophical background is intertwined with a transdisciplinary approach on gender and women studies, NT studies, and philosophy of technology. Graduated with honors in Philosophy from University of Bologna with a Master’s Degree thesis on the relationship between bodies, gender and subjectivity in biocapitalism, supervisors Prof. Faralli, Prof. Brigati and Dr. Balzano.
