EELISA enhances mobility opportunities for academic and research staff (professors, researchers, and others) for short teaching periods (seminars, intensive courses, etc.) at Alliance partners, regulated by Erasmus+ mobility calls (KA 131).

Furthermore, collaboration opportunities within EELISA for academic and research staff build on the work carried out in the EELISA innoCORE (EELISA INNOvation and COmmon REsearch Strategy) project, which identified 11 Strategic Research Areas, i.e., cross-cutting research topics as a common strategy for research within EELISA.

Finally, collaboration opportunities between academic and research staff from Scuola Sant'Anna and EELISA partners include calls for the organization of Research Retreats, i.e., events typically lasting three days in which staff from at least two Alliance partners from different countries are invited to Scuola Sant'Anna to hold seminars on their research topics. With the aim of strengthening the role of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in promoting a European research and innovation ecosystem, the Research Retreats aim to:

• foster opportunities for interdisciplinary scientific discussion;

• encourage and encourage the creation and/or consolidation of scientific collaborations between the School's faculty and research staff and those of the EELISA Alliance, particularly in EELISA's strategic research areas;

• expand the network of connections and collaborations;

• stimulate ideas for new joint research projects with international partners.
