Incoming Mobility for Study

If you are interested in the training and research activities of the SSSA and you are willing to spend an Erasmus Mobility period at the SSSA the International Relations Office – Erasmus Mobility erasmus@santannapisa.it will help you to check which could be the best option for you (attend classes, preparing the thesis, research/study period etc)
Due to its vocation as Research University, students who aim at preparing their thesis or do a research or training period and do not need ECTS , but they are looking for a supervised research/study activity, can get the most from the Erasmus Period at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
For students nominated by a partner institution
Before Mobility
After the Nomination from your University we will contact you and we will fix 2 online meetings with:
- The Student Secretariat, for all information related to courses
- The International Relations for all information related to your period at the Scuola.
If the student is interested in more details about the inclusion support provided by the Erasmus+ Programme, he/she can write an email to erasmus@santannapisa.it with the subject line ‘Erasmus inclusion’.

If you plan to attend Courses and obtain ECTS during your stay please note that you can combine in your Learning Agreement:
Courses at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna: These are the Courses for our Honor’s College students, they are short Courses and they worth an average of 2 ECTS each.

Master's Degree Courses: If you are a Master Degree Students you can include Courses from our Master's Degree Courses, jointly organized with a Partner University, the course are taught for the most part in English, please check the list of the Master Degrees and check the specific website.
Seasonal Schools: During your stay as an Erasmus Students you can choose among our Seasonal Schools. The Seasonal Schools are training programs “of excellence” for university students, which are strongly interdisciplinary and focused on the School’s frontier research topics. (For Erasmus students of the Scuola no tuition fee is required, but you need to apply for the Seasonal School you prefer and undergoing the selection process).
Participants are awarded with a certificate of attendance after passing a final examination, with recognition of 3 or 4 ECTS.
Courses at the University of Pisa: There is the opprtunity to add courses hel at the University of Pisa, but for this option please refer directly to our office erasmus@santannapisa.it to receive all practical informations.
You will be associated to an academic tutor who will assist you during the preparation of your Learning Agreement. You can fill in the Learning Agreement online OLA, according to the requirements of your University.
During Mobility
Exchange Erasmus students who are going to stay for a whole semester can attend a free italian language course, that will be held at the Linguistic Centre of the University of Pisa, please check the website for more infor https://portal.cli.unipi.it/bando-italiano-corsi-generali-2425-ciclo1
After your arrival at the Scuola, you can make some changes to your LA and you will be assisted by the Student Secretariat and your tutor.
After Mobility
A Transcript of Records will be issuedby the International Relations Office (IRO) of the Scuola, no later than 5 weeks after the assessment period has finished. IRO will include in your transcript all the courses/activities you realized during your stay.
Grading system
A scale ranging from 0-30 with 18 as passing mark. A cum laude may be added to the highest score (30 e lode) as special distinction. The lowest passing grade is 18. The grades from 18 to 30 are all used.
