								Julia Mazzei is a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Economics of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. 
She got a PhD in Economics from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in 2023. 
She has been a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Innovation & Competition and at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2022.
							
						Research
Her research interests center around the economics of innovation and innovation policy, with a particular emphasis on the role and use of intellectual property rights. The papers she has worked on so far are mainly empirical and oriented towards cutting-edge methodologies and original data sources.
She has received the following recognitions:
- Industry and Innovation 2023 Best Paper Award received for the paper "Knowing brown and inventing green? Incremental and radical innovative activities in the automotive sector" 
- Premio Colombaria 2024 - Award for outstanding PhD thesis in social sciences 
- Premi-innova Best Paper on R&D and innovation - 9th PhD workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE)
