Bio
Master degree in Biomedical Engineering and attending PhD in Biorobotics. My research is focused on innovative mechanical design approaches to develop new generation instruments for robotic surgery. I’m working on compliant mechanisms and origami inspired designs to reduce the number of components and make the devices easy to manufacture. In this context, I aim to create devices that are not only functionally efficient but also sustainable from a mechanical design perspective, optimizing material use, reducing complexity, and facilitating scalable production. My research spans mechanical design, mechanism and machine theory, smart materials, smart actuators, and sensing technologies.
