Bio

I received my BSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2015. I then pursued an MSc in Bionics Engineering, a joint program offered by the University of Pisa and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. During my master’s studies, I completed a six-month internship at University College London, where I worked on medical image processing using deep learning techniques.

In 2018, I began my PhD in Biorobotics at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. My doctoral research was conducted within a European Research Council (ERC) project focused on developing innovative interfaces for the control of hand prostheses based on magnetic implants. As part of my PhD, I spent two months as a visiting scientist at the Medical University of Vienna, where I conducted clinical trials involving targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) participants.

After defending my PhD in July 2022 and completing two years of postdoctoral research, I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
