Bio
M. Gharbaoui is an Assistant Professor at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Health Science at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, Italy. She received her Ph.D. degree in Innovative Technologies of Information & Communications Engineering and Robotics in 2012 from the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. She has served as Organizing Committee member in several flagship international conferences in networking since 2015 and, recently with relevant roles such as General Chair at ICIN2026. She has collaborated in several National, European and International projects and has co-authored more than 70 papers appeared in international journals and conference proceedings.
Research
Molka Gharbaoui's most recent research has focused on network design, management, and optimization, telecommunication network performance evaluation, especially in the areas of Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and network optimization and automation through Intent-Based Networking (IBN). Her studies have often been characterized by significant experimental activity. She is currently also considering other emerging topics such as telemedicine and eHealth.

She is currently responsible of the 20-hour course "Virtualized Research Infrastructures" for PhD students in "Emerging Digital Technologies" at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
