Official start of the Higher Education course on Sport Management & Sustainability, the result of a collaboration between the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa and ACF Fiorentina.
The course, which focuses on the topics of sports management, environmental sustainability and the circular economy, involves the participation of thirty students who will meet for 12 weekends to discuss methods and approaches to face the management challenges within sports organisations, with particular reference to football clubs. The first lesson took place at Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli, in the presence of Alessandro Ferrari, general manager of ACF Fiorentina, and Daniele Pradé, sporting director of ACF Fiorentina. The two managers discussed the topics of interest of the course with the participants.

‘Directors Ferrari and Pradé will not be the only Fiorentina managers to participate in the course lessons,’ explains Tiberio Daddi, scientific director of the course and associate professor of the Institute of Management and the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Sustainability and Climate of the Sant'Anna School. ’During the lessons, about 20 Fiorentina managers and employees will be involved in the lessons, including those responsible for human resources, finance, events, infrastructure, marketing and ICT. We thought that Sport Management explained by those who deal with it on a daily basis could be an effective way to involve the students’.
In addition to the Fiorentina managers, various professors and researchers from the Scuola S.Anna will share their experiences on issues related to sustainability and management. The course also includes student participation in the Fiorentina-Parma Serie A match, scheduled for 13 April: on that occasion, the students will have the opportunity to see the application of the concepts discussed in class first hand.
