Bright Night 2025: Science takes center stage again on September 26th with the European Researchers' Night

The European Researchers’ Night returns — a major event launched in 2005 by the European Commission to bring the public closer to science and the world of research.
Originating from the acronym "Brilliant Researchers Impact on Growth Health and Trust in Research," the event aims to highlight the role of research in society, emphasizing its positive impact on growth, health, and trust. The initiative is supported by the Region of Tuscany as part of the Giovanisì project and is included in the European HORIZON-MSCA-2023-CITIZENS-01 program.
The Sant’Anna School is among the event’s main promoters, together with Tuscan universities (Università di Firenze, Pisa, Siena, Stranieri di Siena, Scuola Normale Superiore e Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, and a wide network of research institutions — including the Pisa Research Area of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) di Pisa , l’Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), l’Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), l’European Gravitational Observatory (EGO), INAF Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri – all with the support of the Regione Toscana, and within the Giovanisì framework.
The key theme of the 2025 edition is inclusion: a science that listens, engages in dialogue, and helps build a more equitable and sustainable future by placing people, relationships, and communities at the center. For this reason, special attention will also be given to children and schools, with educational activities and learning paths designed to stimulate curiosity and critical thinking from an early age.
The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies is once again opening its research doors to the public, confirming its leading role with a rich program of initiatives that reflect its commitment to interdisciplinary research and responsible innovation.
Researchers from the School will meet the public through practical demonstrations, interactive activities, and guided tours, making some of today’s most advanced and relevant topics accessible and engaging — from applied sciences to robotics, from sustainability to social sciences.
